An elderly man who was allegedly burnt by his tenant lady to grab his property died at a local hospital on Monday. The Sherakot police took the deceased’s tenant identified as Shamim Bibi into custody for setting the 70-year-old ablaze. Tahir Ali, of Kicker Pir, received burns at the kitchen of his house on Monday morning. He was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his burns.
The police said the elderly man had rented out upper portion of his house to Shamim Bibi. In a statement recorded by the investigators, Ali alleged that Shamim had set him ablaze to grab his property. The police sent his body to the city morgue for an autopsy. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
Tenants kill landlady, say police
A 60-year-old woman was murdered allegedly by her tenants in Garden Town police precinct on Tuesday. The deceased, Ghulam Fatima, was a resident of Jewankhana, Garden Town. Her family told police that four tenants, including Rehmat and Hajran, living in the upper portion of Fatima’s house, had killed her, as they did not intend to vacate the portion. They said Fatima was rushed to a local hospital where she died. The Garden Town police have registered a case and sent the body to the city morgue for an autopsy.
Tenant injures shop owner over rent
A tenant shot and injured shop owner Khan Muhammad at Kamal Chowk of Awami Basti on Wednesday.Accused Yousaf Ali wounded Khan Muhammad over rent. City police have registered a case and were raidingto arrest the accused who fled after the incident.
