The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with a shooting around 1 a.m. June 20 in Fort Walton Beach.
Deputies responding to 2806 Bradford Place learned 33-year-old Wallace Lance Morris, Jr., who is renting a room at that residence from Ernest Delfino, got involved in an argument with Delfino over money.
The argument turned into a physical altercation and Morris pulled out a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and shot Delfino in the chest.
Two women in the home helped Morris put Delfino into a car and they then drove him to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Morris told deputies the shooting was an accident. He is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
