Continuing the tenant verification drive, the Mela police is holding chaupals in Jhunsi and Arial villages. The police officials have asked villagers to inform them if they offer accommodation to tenants or see any suspected persons in the villages.
The mela police are sensitizing visitors and people living near Sangam, Arial and Jhunsi area and seeking their cooperation to make foolproof security arrangements for Kumbh mela.
A senior cop said The Mela police have so far enlisted over 5,000 persons residing as tenants and verification teams are still conducting the drive.
“We have been appealing house owners and other eminent residents of the city to inform police if any new person arrives for accommodation on rent and all entries have been enrolled” said an official.
