River Falls police joined members of the St. Croix Valley Drug Task force in carrying out a daylong search warrant at 408 N. Second St. Tuesday, March 17.

A 30-year-old male tenant at that address was arrested and taken to county jail in Ellsworth.

According to police, 21 marijuana plants and growing equipment were seized during the search. The marijuana growing operation was said to be in the rental house’s basement.

No one else was home while the warrant was being carried out. Six officers attached to the St. Croix Valley Drug Task Force were involved.

The case is still ongoing. A River Falls police drug investigator will question the suspect Wednesday morning, March 18, at the jail.
