One man has been arrested after a Vancouver Island landlord was allegedly threatened by a tenant wielding an axe.
Police in Saanich, B.C., say the confrontation happened at about 7 p.m. PT Friday.
“[The] landlord went to serve some [eviction] documents to the tenant. Rather than be able to serve papers peacefully, the tenant decided to threaten the landlord and chase him off the property with an axe,” said Const. Gord Bedingfield.
The landlord fled and called police.
No one was injured, but it took police an hour to convince the suspect come out of his residence on Cedar Hill Cross Road.
The 43-year-old is facing charges of making threats with a weapon.
