Busting the murder case of a woman in Bajarang Nagar, the police have arrested the accused tenant. According to police, Monu, alias Hridesh (29), son of Raghuveer Tyagi, native of Nakala housing colony, Firozabad (UP), is the main accused in the case.
He rented a portion in the victim’s house on Rs 2500 per month. Currently he was unemployed and was unable to pay off the rent. He presumed the landlord family well off and finding Veena Jagtap home alone, entered into the house and strangulated her with rope and towel. He stole her ear-tops, Mangalsutra and Rs 620 cash from her. The accused has been sent on one-day police remand.
SP Abhay Singh informed that Veena, wife of Rajendra Jagtap (46) was murdered on Tuesday while being home alone. A team was formed to catch the accused and who was considered to run away to UP if not arrested on time.
The team, consist of inspector UPS. Chauhan, T-I Rajiv Singh Bhadoria, sub inspector SL Auchane, ASI Bholendra Parmar, head constable Rakesh Babu, Man Singh , Satyanarayan Jhala, constable Ashish Rathod and Tej Singh, was keeping an eye on the residents around. The team enquired with children of the deceased and found that the tenant had not paid rent for months.
