A landlord and his wife were booked for raping a 25-year-old woman, who stayed as a tenant in their house, on Sunday.
The accused have identified as Ashu Garg and Hina Garg, residents of Phase 3B2 in SAS Nagar.
The police said the incident took place on August 26, when the victim who was staying at the first floor of the house, went downstairs for some work. The couple forcibly took her inside their house, where Ashu raped her.
The victim said when she tried to scream for the help, Hina increased the volume of the television and also threatened her of dire consequences.
The police said after conducting the preliminary investigation, a case was registered against the couple who was absconding.
The case was registered under sections 376 (rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120b (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
The police were making efforts to nab the accused.
