The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call on Spiller Avenue on Saturday.
The offender had fled the scene and was picked up in Stevenson by Stevenson Police Department.
Lataz Austin Smith, 19 of Bridgeport, was shot in the leg with a small caliber hand gun by Trey Montez Hutchins, 17 of Stevenson, police said.
Smith was taken to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn. for treatment. After conducting the investigation, Hutchins was charged as an adult with attempted murder and placed in the Jackson County Jail.
His bond has not been set at this time.
