A35-year-old woman was found murdered in her house in Shantinagar, Bhosari on Tuesday morning. Police suspect she was killed while trying to fend off the advances of husband’s friend’s, who was living with the family.
The deceased was identified as Neelam Tiwari, from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. She was living with her husband, brother-in-law and two children. Cops say an acquaintance of Tiwari’s from Allahabad was living with the family for the last three or four months. They identified him as the accused — one Yadav — who works at Parag Rubber Enterprises in Shantinagar.
The murder took place around 10.30 am, when Tiwari’s husband was at work, and the brother-in-law had gone to pick up the children from school. No one was at home with Tiwari except Yadav. PI S T Patil of Bhosari PS said, “The friend of the deceased’s husband is absconding now. We suspect she died trying to save herself from his advances.
Yadav was staying with them on rent for the last few months. They have no photo of him, nor was he registered at the police station. We have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and begun investigations.”
