Detroit police say a rental home owner and her father have been shot to death in an armed confrontation with an evicted tenant who was stealing items while moving out.
Police tell WXYZ-TV that the 22-year-old killed the 37-year-old woman and her 73-year-old father on Friday afternoon.
Sgt. Michael Woody says the owner was evicting the man but he was stealing items from the house as he moved out.
Woody says she and her father arrived armed and confronted the 22-year-old, who shot them to death.
The sergeant says a 26-year-old woman who was with the renter was wounded. Police say they don’t know who shot her or who started shooting first.
Woody says he expects the tenant to be arraigned Monday.
