A landlord who was arrested Wednesday when a tenant accused him of setting a fire on her porch was arrested again early Thursday after bailing out of jail.
Police were called when the 52-year-old man returned to the apartment building he owns at Herbert and Upas streets and started banging on doors, demanding the tenants leave, police Officer Frank Cali said.
The man, who was intoxicated, was arrested around 1:40 a.m. on suspicion of intimidating a witness, Cali said.
In the first incident, a female tenant called police about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday and said her landlord lit something on her porch. He holed up in his home for two hours and refused to come out, police said. Officers ended up using a battering ram to knock in the door and arrested him on suspicion of arson.
